I was sitting at a bus stop one night, just waiting, when I noticed something move. I turned and saw it was a cockroach going by.

Since I once was climbed upon by one, I thought "I'm just waiting for you to come near me so I can squash you with a smile!" But it didn't approach me, so I just kept watching it go around.

At some point, the cockroach got off the sidewalk and into the street, and it seemed to want to cross it. So I kept looking.

It went on, and everytime a car went by it stopped, played dead for a while and then continued. Before I knew it I was crossing my fingers so it would make it.

It was a large street, or avenue, with 3 lanes plus parking, and it was already on the half of it, getting to the last 2 lanes, when a taxi cab came by. I held my breath, but it was smart and stopped right over the lane division, just like a person would.

I was amazed, thinking "This is the first time I've seen a cockroach cross the street!"

But then, two buses came by and the first one stopped, blocking my sight. So the second one changed lanes, and I thought "This isn't good..." because it went over the exact spot the cockroach was at.

So when the first bus took off, I was anxious to see what had happened, but saw nothing. Until a car went by and I saw it - the cockrach moving with the air flow from the car, dragged against the ground. I still had some hope, but it didn't move anymore.

So it became "This is the first time I've seen a cockroach get runned over." I was a bit sad. But thought, better to die crossing over than being squashed on the sidewalk.
